WATCH: Cissie Graham Lynch says Biden-Harris presidency ‘leaves no room for people of faith’

Cissie Graham Lynch addressed Democrats on Aug. 25 during the second night of the Republican National Convention. Lynch, who is the daughter of evangelical leader Franklin Graham, criticized Democrats’ policies on reproductive health and gender under former President Barack Obama, saying that they tried to make faith organizations pay for abortion-inducing drugs and to pressure schools “to allow boys to compete in girls’ sports and use girls’ locker rooms.” The Obama administration required most health insurance plans to include “essential health benefits” under the Affordable Care Act, including emergency contraceptives. It also passed protections for transgender students in public schools, that the Trump administration later rescinded. “Even during the pandemic, we saw how quickly life could change,” Graham said. “Some Democrat leaders banned church services while marijuana shops and abortion clinics were declared ‘essential,’” she claimed. A number of states have sought to limit access to abortion by declaring it non-essential during the pandemic, but their efforts were ultimately blocked by the courts. Lynch said that a Biden-Harris presidency would leave “no room for people of faith.”
