President Joe Biden announced “we have a deal” on a bipartisan infrastructure plan on Thursday.
During a news conference outside the White House, he and a group of senators revealed the $953 billion agreement, far below Biden’s original $2 trillion proposal. “This reminds me of the days when we used to get an awful lot done up in the United States Congress,” Biden said.
He said the bipartisan deal leaves out the American Families Plan and child tax credit, but hopes that the Democrats can continue to pursue those “human infrastructure” investments in separate legislation.
