Officer Michael Gore has always wanted to make an impact in Seattle. A graduate of Ballard High School and Western Washington University, where he studied journalism, Michael’s first public service jobs were in politics. First in Washington D.C. and later at Seattle City Hall. Police work wasn’t on his mind until after he spent time talking with members of the Seattle Police Department and former Chief Kathleen O’Toole.
“I thought that working in politics and working for elected officials was the way to make a difference. After writing so many press releases and speeches, and seeing what actual civil servants do on the street every day, I decided that where I wanted to make a change was actually out in the community.”
