Prominent Republican John Kasich stepped across party lines for Joe Biden on Monday, the opening night of a Democratic convention showcasing the broad coalition arrayed against President Donald Trump. "I’m a lifelong Republican, but that attachment holds second place to my responsibility to my country,’ he said. Standing literally at a fork in a road, he called Biden ‘a man who can help us see the humanity in each other.’ Other Republicans on the speakers list included former New Jersey Governor Christine Todd Whitman and the Quibi CEO, Meg Whitman.
