German prosecutors have charged a former aide to a far-right politician and European Parliament lawmaker with spying for China.
The prosecutor’s office says the man, who’s been identified only as Jian G, repeatedly passed information to a Chinese intelligence agency. He is said to have obtained more than 500 documents, including some categorized as particularly sensitive. Jian G worked for the far-right German politician, Maximilian Krah, while also allegedly spying on Chinese dissidents in Germany.
