An Amazon spokesperson pushed back on a report that the company was planning to show consumers how much a product’s cost comes from tariffs.
"Teams discuss ideas all the time," the spokesperson said. "This was never a consideration for the main Amazon site and nothing has been implemented on any Amazon properties."
The report had prompted pushback from the White House, with press secretary Karoline Leavitt calling such a move a "hostile and political act."
