STORYLINE:
Argentines were paying their respects on Wednesday to the late Pope Francis following his death on Monday.
Catholic faithful headed to the Buenos Aires Cathedral to leave flowers, candles and wrote messages in a condolence book.
Francis died on Monday at 88, culminating a 12-year pontificate marked by his concern for the poor and his message of inclusion, but also some criticism from conservatives who sometimes felt alienated by his progressive bent.
