US President Donald Trump’s tariff announcements have rattled markets. African states may not be Washington’s main targets, but like other regions the new levies are forcing a reconsideration of trade relations. Tariffs of at least 10% will apply to imports out of most countries on the continent. Lesotho is one of the world’s 60 countries facing steeper rates of 50% and the African nation is now hoping to launch high-level talks with the United States.
