STORYLINE:
A charity in Gaza’s southern city of Khan Younis has distributed hot meals to war-weary Palestinians struggling to feed their children over a month after Israel banned the entry of aid into the strip.
Dozens of Palestinians, including children, were waiting in the burning summer sun to receive the meals.
“Amid the closure of crossings, one doesn’t find food to eat,” Rania Haj Yusuf said, adding that food prices have skyrocketed since the ban of aid entry early in March.
“We cannot complete our lives this way.”
The charity has warned that its stock of food is running out.
“Our operations are threatened to stop in the coming days because the (food) material has disappeared from the markets,” Hani Abu Al-Qasim said.
