STORYLINE:
Marathon runners and. spectators in Boston shared their reactions Monday to the death of Pope Francis.
Pope Francis died on Easter Monday at the age of 88.
Katie Treadwell, who is in Boston to run her thrid marathon said Francis’ impact will be felt in his care for the marginalized members of the church and members of the world and the Christian community in particular.
Paul Joseph Brulelle, who is as Revolutionary War re-enactor said he hopes the Catholic Church will make a smart decisio in choosing the next Pope.
The Argentine pontiff, history’s first from Latin America, presided over the Catholic Church for more than 12 years.
The death of Francis was announced by Cardinal Kevin Farrell, the Irish-born Vatican camerlengo, a position that will be important in the coming weeks as he takes charge of the administration of the Holy See until a new pope is elected.
