"I always say it holds the title of being the oldest restaurant in the world, which is always something that kind of shocks people, and then I go to explain that it is the oldest continuously working restaurant or operating restaurant in the world, yes. You know, we talked about how it’s been only passed through two families only , right? That they only restore things, they don’t renovate, they don’t redecorate. So, it’s like jumping back in time.”

"It’s the oldest in the world because the Guinness World Records says so, based on four conditions. The first, it has been operating continuously. The second, in the same location. The third, with the same name. And the fourth, with the same activity.”

“I estimated at least 75 percent of clients are tourists. They come attracted by the history, I understand that especially back in the day, this was spread by word of mouth, which is impressive. We’ve had it for 60 years. We’ve never done advertising, nor do we decorate the walls with photos of the celebrities who have visited – which are hundreds that have passed through here – like in many places."

"Well, many big personalities like Ava Gardner, for example, when she was filming ‘The Barefoot Contessa,’ she would come here too. And indeed, barefoot, she would start dancing on top of a table. Frank Sinatra, a lot of singers and personalities from that time also passed through here.”
