"We want to be able to allow our schools _ allow not force _ but allow our schools to ask for proof of immigration status. And for most people that’s gonna be a birth certificate to prove that you’re a US citizen, but if not, to at least prove that you’re legally here and then if you are not a legal citizen , if you’re illegally in the United States, then that school would be able to charge you a tuition that would be commiserate with the additional cost of educating that child."
