“I believe the tragic situation we are witnessing now in Gaza, and the daily killing, must stop. As you know, we reached an agreement several months ago, but unfortunately, Israel did not abide by this agreement. However, we, as Qatar, as mediators, will strive to try to bring the viewpoints closer together in order to reach an agreement that ends the suffering of the Palestinian people, especially in the Gaza Strip, and now we are also seeing it in the West Bank.”

“Syria, a few days ago, His Excellency President Ahmed al-Sharaa was in Qatar. We talked about many things, including the historical relationship between Russia and Syria, the strategic relationship. He is keen to build a relationship between the two countries based on respect and the interests of the two peoples. There are perhaps things we will discuss in this regard. Your Excellency the President, Syria is undoubtedly going through a delicate and sensitive phase. It is in our interest, and everyone’s interest, to support this approach in Syria: territorial unity and civil peace.”

STORYLINE:
Qatari Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani met Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow on Thursday.
Al-Thani called for the killing in the Gaza Strip to stop.
"As you know, we reached an agreement several months ago, but unfortunately, Israel did not abide by this agreement," he said. "However, we, as Qatar, as mediators, will strive to try to bring the viewpoints closer together in order to reach an agreement that ends the suffering of the Palestinian people, especially in the Gaza Strip, and now we are also seeing it in the West Bank," he added.
Al-Thani also spoke about his recent meeting with Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa in Qatar.
