STORYLINE:
South Korean stocks edged slightly lower on Wednesday morning after rallying in previous days.

Despite rising tensions over U.S.-China trade negotiations, the market appears to be taking a breather as U.S. President Donald Trump has refrained from making additional tariff moves or statements.

At approximately 10:00 am (0100 GMT) South Korea’s benchmark Korea Composite Stock Price Index (KOSPI) was trading at 2470.40, down 0.2% on Tuesday’s close.

Global markets have been roiled in recent weeks by the Trump administration’s imposition and subsequent rollback of hefty tariffs on most of the U.S.’s major trading partners.
