STORYLINE:
South Korean Foreign Minister Cho Tae-yul met Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on Wednesday as he visits the country to boost bilateral relations and to attend a summit on sustainable development.
South Korea is among Vietnam’s top economic partners, with US$92 billion of investments across various projects in the country.
Major South Korean corporations including Samsung, LG and Hyundai have been expanding their operations in Vietnam.
BIlateral trade surpassed $80 billion last year and the two countries aim to reach $100 billion in 2025 and $150 billion by 2030, according to state media Vietnam News.
In Hanoi, Cho is also scheduled to attend the P4G Summit – a multilateral initiative to promote green growth and sustainable economies.
