"God, I hope we are a testament to the fact that you can get on a stage and go to work and have a wonderful work-life balance. It was fun because actually, this season, we were filming next door to ‘The Pitt’, and it feels good now seeing ‘The Pitt’ be so successful because we were next door to their crew. I love crew camaraderie on a studio lot, and, you know, watching our ADs and their ADs get along and our PAs and their PAs like become friends. We’re all filming for a really long time and sharing the space together. We’re sharing hallways together, and it feels very old Hollywood. And so here you have these two, you know, successful shows that are filming right next to each other on the studio lot in LA, hiring crew members here, employing people here. So yeah. It’s one of those things where I’m like, yeah, stay in LA if you can. I know there are many other factors that go into that, though, so it’s not always affordable to film here. So, I hope maybe we can get to that place and start talking about that."
(Reporter: "I can imagine the beauty of that old school feel where you’re walking down and visiting your set neighbors.")
"It’s so nice. Rachel Sennott is on my lot now, and so we’ll hang out, and we were just saying how nice it feels to see peers and be filming on set. It’s really great yeah."

(Reporter: "I caught the ‘Girlfriend’s’ reference with Jabari and Darnell…")
‘Let me tell you something! That happened by accident. I promise you we did not plan that. It might just be in our brain. When the episode aired, all of the writers, when we were in a group chat, we were like, ‘We did not know we did that.’ Someone said Jabari in the room for the kid’s name, and I said, ‘Yeah, I love that name for him.’ Completely did not realize it, but I’m happy that we did an inadvertent homage to ‘Girlfriends.’ I mean, that was cool. I don’t know. Something about that’s super tight. I like just the shows being in our head and just accessing them without us knowing."

"You know, I think it started about the middle of the first season and Randall, our director, said, ‘Just do nothing.’ And I was like, ‘Do nothing? Honey, I win awards for this. What are you talking about?’ And I thought about it, and the more I just let it go and followed that little bit of direction, ‘Do nothing, just be.’ it was everything. So now you know I come in, and I’m like, ‘Yeah, I’m ready to do something: nothing"

"I feel like Ava’s always been building but like you said this was a real you know formative season for her. I am most proud and also grateful to Quinta and the writers for trusting me that I can bring these different elements to her to life. I love the writing and I love how her character is developing. I love that she hasn’t changed her core personality even though all of these things are going on and I think that’s a testament to like excellent writing and world building and why our show continues to be popular and the best ."
