"Rex (his dog), this time of the year you could say it’s his best time because he has plenty of work coming round with me each day, feeding the ewes. We have to then look at them in the evenings. We feed them in the mornings, and they will get fed for the first few weeks that they’re out at grass."

"Okay, so we’re here on Manor Farm, the Seamark’s farm, who actually run all the sheep for us on Southwark Bridge this year. And so I think about a thousand lambs have been born this season. And some of them will be there, they will have grown to a size and they come across on the bridge, and they don’t mind people because they do all kinds of events around with people as well."

"To go into the cities I do find rewarding because we are sort of taking the country life to the city. There are a lot of people in the city I know don’t want to know about the country life. But then there are a lot that do."

STORYLINE:
LEADIN:
Adorable little lambs have been enjoying the spring sunshine at this farm in Bedfordshire, England.
Later this year, some of them will cross one of London’s busy bridges across the Thames river as part of a tradition dating back to medieval times.
STORYLINE:
Baby lambs frolicking in the sunshine is one of the most enduring symbols of spring.
Here on Manor Farm in Bedfordshire the newborn lambs are enjoying their first weeks out in the verdant grass.
Sticking close to their mothers, the lambs are exploring their surroundings and playing happily on the farm.
For sheep farmer David Seamark this is the busiest time of year but his faithful companion Rex is always close by to lend a hand (or paw).
With the sun shining and his fields filled with sheep, there is no better place to be.
"So as a sheep farmer, the springtime, all the newborn lambs, day like today where we have lovely sunshine, warm weather – nothing could be more idyllic," says Seamark.
