Trade war: Smaller nations in balancing act between China, US | DW News

Malaysia is the latest stop on Chinese President Xi Jinping’s week-long tour of Southeast Asia.
The trip is intended to strengthen trade ties with China’s neighbours as the tariff war with the US worsens. Xi has been calling for closer economic coordination in the region, and has promoted China as a stable trade partner in uncertain times.
But the smaller nations are finding themselves in a delicate balancing act to keep both China and the US happy.
