The Taiwan stock market index (TAIEX) surged 1,630 points on Thursday morning at opening in reaction to the US government pausing tariffs on most nations.
The TAIEX opened at 17,391 points and surged to 19,021 points at opening, marking an historical hike.
Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company’s (TSMC) stock price surged from 785 points to 863 points at market opening.
The highs and lows of Taiwan’s stock market are capped at 10% every trading day.
