STORYLINE:
Britain’s King Charles III planted a tree and took part in various discussion on environmental issues as he visited the Villa Wolkonsky, the Italian residence of the British ambassador, on Thursday.
Charles was received at the villa by the CEO of the Circular Bioeconomy Alliance, Dr. Marc Palahí.
In the villa’s gardens the royal met with representatives from three groups, each representing a project related to the work of the Circular Bioeconomy Alliance.
Officials said the main topics of the meetings included; the impact of urban biodiversity on citizen’s health; the damage caused to pine trees by alien insect attacks; and new technologies used to measure the impact of climate change on trees.
Charles then planted an oak tree, donated by Italian President Sergio Mattarella.
