China’s Xi Jinping visits Vietnam and Malaysia to shore up support amid trade war | DW News

Chinese President Xi Jinping has arrived in Malaysia’s capital Kuala Lumpur – the second stop in a long-planned trip through Southeast Asia

Earlier in Hanoi, Chinese President Xi Jinping signed dozens of agreements with Vietnam, including trade deals, as the tariff dispute with the US continues. China is currently facing 145% duties imposed by US President Donald Trump. The Chinese leader called for stronger ties with Vietnam. He’s also visiting Cambodia later in the week.
