STORYLINE:
South Korea’s stock market closed slightly higher on Tuesday.
At 3:30pm (0630GMT) South Korea’s benchmark Korea Composite Stock Price Index closed at 2334.23, which was 0.26 percent higher than Monday’s close.
Many Asian markets advanced on Tuesday while markets in Thailand and Indonesia tumbled, however, as they reopened after holidays.
The rebound for most other regional markets followed a wild day on Wall Street, where stocks careened after President Donald Trump threatened to crank his double-digit tariffs higher.
