How a young Roma woman fosters the Romani language in Kosovo | DW News

Roma people around the world face discrimination — and Kosovo is no different. But one young woman is determined to fight the stereotypes and foster the Romani language.

Urma Menekshe is a Romani activist from the city of Prizren in southern Kosovo. She not only teaches the language to children at four different schools in the city, but also set up the first Romani library in Kosovo a few years ago.

DW spoke to her about enduring stereotypes and how she tries to break them.
