STORYLINE:
Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sissi welcomed French President Emmanuel Macron in the Egyptian port city of El Arish on Tuesday.
Both leaders visited injured Palestinians in El Arish hospital and the Egyptian Red Crescent logistics centre.
On Monday, the French and Middle East leaders spoke to US President Donald Trump about ways to urgently secure a ceasefire in Gaza, stressing the need to resume access for aid supplies, according to the French president’s office.
