Los Angeles’s district attorney asked a judge to throw out a bid to have brothers Erik and Lyle Menendez resentenced. Erik and Lyle were sentenced to life in prison. The DA accuses the brothers of lying for decades about their claims of self-defense during the shotgun murders of their parents, Kitty and Jose Menendez, at their Beverly Hills mansion in 1989. Relatives of the Menendez brothers told ABC they believe the brothers’ claims of sexual abuse.
