"Today we had a summary first meeting. It was really just one phase of meetings, but very important. “French troops will be among the first, I am absolutely sure… (well, I mean) if they are. The French and British contingents, they are presenting this idea today as the main representatives of the European contingent. When they (french troops) will be here and in what quantity – I simply cannot say (right now). These are the agreements we have with our partners for now.”

"We believe that the United States of America will not lift sanctions, but on the contrary will take steps to strengthen them. Daily strikes, and today’s ballistic strike, are proof that strong sanctions against (Russian President, Vladimir) Putin are needed. This will force them to stop. At least to stop the hot phase of this war – a ceasefire."

"It is desirable that any negotiations be substantive. How can we talk directly with ballistic missiles? Today, it is simply talking with missiles and terrorists. What is the point of just talking? First of all, an unconditional ceasefire (is what is needed). Thank you to America for this initiative. It is correct. We could show the red lines ourselves before the ceasefire, but we are not doing this. We emphasize this: we believe that the ceasefire should be unconditional, and after that we can talk in any format. But for this, it is necessary that the Russians are not just murderers, but are ready for diplomacy. So far, they are just devils, how can you say otherwise about them. Today, there was an attack, 12 people were killed."

STORYLINE:
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said "another month" was needed to finalise details of a potential peacekeeping coalition for Ukraine following the first summary meeting with Britain and France.
He made the remarks during a press briefing in Kyiv on Friday.
Also on Friday, a Russian ballistic missile strike on a central Ukrainian city killed at least 14 people, including six children, Ukrainian officials said.
It came as U.S. and European leaders pressed Russia to accept a ceasefire in the conflict.
At least 50 people were wounded in the strike on Kryvyi Rih — the hometown of Zelenskyy — in what the region’s leader Serhii Lysak described as an “assault against civilians.”
