"We’re at the funeral of the martyrs that have been martyred yesterday by the Israeli assassination in the southern suburb of Beirut. This should be condemned by all words, and this should be handled by the international community because the flagrant breach and violation of the sovereignty of Lebanon and killing the civilians, and targeting in Beirut the residential areas is a trend in Israeli policy, particularly Israeli military policy."

5. SOUNDBITE (English) Ibrahim Al-Mousawi, Lebanese legislator, Hezbollah Bloc:
"It is to hold Israel responsible for this open killing license that has been given to it. And here, we are talking about the steadfast community that is ready to pay the prices for the continuous breaches and violations, but we want to see the Lebanese state assuming its responsibility and defending the people. This is an opportunity for Lebanon and for the international community to hold Israel responsible for its crimes and to exercise the maximum pressure to stop this open assassination."

STORYLINE:
The Lebanese militant Hezbollah group Wednesday held a funeral for one of his members and his son killed in an overnight Israeli strike in southern Beirut.
The Israeli military said Hassan Bdeir had been helping the Palestinian Hamas group in the Gaza Strip in planning attacks against Israeli citizens.
He and his son, Ali Bdeir, were honored as martyrs in the funeral. Two other people were killed in the strike that hit the top three floors of an apartment building in Beirut’s southern suburbs.
Hundreds of Hezbollah supporters attended the funeral of Hassan and Ali Bdeir, whose coffins were wrapped in Hezbollah’s yellow flag.
The ceremony was held in southern Beirut at a cemetery where Hezbollah fighters are usually buried.
"This is an opportunity for Lebanon and for the international community to hold Israel responsible for its crimes and to exercise the maximum pressure to stop this open assassination," said Ibrahim Al-Mousawi, a Lebanese legislator from the Hezbollah Bloc who attended the funeral.
The airstrike came without warning days after Israel launched an attack on the Lebanese capital, Beirut, on Friday for the first time since a ceasefire ended fighting between Israeli forces and the Hezbollah militant group in November. The Israeli military then had warned residents in the crowded suburbs before the attack after two projectiles were launched from southern Lebanon, which Hezbollah denied firing.
At least seven other people were wounded in Tuesday’s airstrike, according to the Lebanese Health Ministry.
The Israeli military said in a statement the latest strike targeted a Hezbollah member who had been helping the Palestinian Hamas group in the Gaza Strip in planning an attack “against Israeli civilians.” It said the airstrike was “under the direction of the Shin Bet”, Israel’s domestic intelligence agency.
