“Well, there’s a national strike in Belgium today, and this has a large impact on our airport operations, unfortunately. So, we have no departing flights with passengers today. So, all departing flights have been cancelled. And at arrival, only one in three flights is operated. So, it also has a large impact on the incoming flights. So together with our partners, we tried to inform passengers as soon as possible. So we informed them a week ago of the expected impact. Of course, we regret the impact of this union action on our passengers today.”

STORYLINE:
A nationwide strike paralysed Belgium’s main airport on Monday.
Brussels Airport spokesperson Chioua Lekhli said all departures were cancelled because of the strike and only one in three arrivals were operating.
"Together with our partners, we tried to inform passengers as soon as possible," Lekhli said.
The strike has also impacted train, metro and bus travel throughout Belgium.
Unions are striking on Monday to protest new government spending reforms by Prime Minister Bart De Wever.
