STORYLINE:
Hundreds of people took to the streets of Peru’s capital Lima to protest the government of President Dina Boluarte and its failure to tackle rising crime.
Demonstrators marched peacefully until they reached a street in front of the Peruvian Congress, where police who accompanied the march prevented them from passing.
The protest broke up shortly afterwards.
The march called for an end to rising crime in the country.
