"Gaza today is the greatest symbol of the abandonment of the humanism we cultivate. Nothing justifies the indiscriminate killing of civilians. In Ukraine, Brazil has always defended the path of dialogue, welcoming all efforts in that direction. As an exponent of the construction of a multipolar order, Latin America and Southeast Asia must avoid a new division of the globe into zones of influence."

STORYLINE:
Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva on Friday met with his Vietnamese counterpart Luong Cuong in Hanoi to discuss cooperation and strengthen ties with the Southeast Asian nation.
Lula praised the cooperation between Vietnam and Brazil as he cited the bilateral trade flow had approached 8 billion U.S. dollars.
He also expressed that Brazil wanted to increase the export of higher value added goods to Vietnam, including aircraft.
He said Brazil’s Embraer was making offers to national carrier Vietnam Airlines for the short and medium range aircrafts designed for regional connectivity.
Lula also talked about expanding technical exchange to strengthen the resilience of the coffee crops that face the challenges of climate change in both countries, which are the world’s two largest coffee exporters.
Global issues such as the Gaza conflict and the Ukraine war were also discussed.
During his visit to Hanoi, Lula also met with other Vietnamese leaders, including Communist chief To Lam, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and Chairman of the National Assembly Tran Thanh Man.
