2. SOUNDBITE (English) Sally Garcia, DeLand, Florida Resident:
"I think people are upset about it and they hear about it and they can’t believe it happened, that people were so incompetent. It’s hard to think they put these people in there, they just passed the Senate confirmation and this is their first big test and what do they do? They give all our state secrets to a reporter and the reporter writes an article about it. Everybody knows including the fact that it was an unsecure communication method and the Russians probably picked up on everything that went on even if they didn’t know it beforehand."

4. SOUNDBITE (English) Gary Caples, DeLand, Florida Resident:
"I think it was a faux pas and it was a mistake that somebody made and I think the Dems are making a whole big deal out of it because that’s all that they have and you know, it’s kind of nobody’s perfect. Intentions are good."

STORYLINE:
Voters in DeLand, Florida, had mixed reactions to news that a Signal group chat conversation among top White House officials was leaked Monday.
Top national security officials including Trump’s defense secretary texted attack plans for upcoming military strikes in Yemen to a group chat in a secure messaging app that included the editor-in-chief for The Atlantic.
This was reported by the magazine Monday.
The National Security Council says the text chain “appears to be authentic.” Atlantic editor-in-chief Jeffrey Goldberg says two hours after he received the details of the attack on March 15, the U.S. began launching airstrikes.
President Donald Trump is downplaying the texting of attack plans to a group chat that included a journalist as “the only glitch in two months” of his administration.
Trump told NBC News on Tuesday it "turned out not to be a serious one.”
