Traditional tailors are no longer able to meet all the orders placed by women, so they have resorted to pre-ordering several caftans and djellabas in different sizes. This has enabled demand to match supply."

"This year, we have relied on velvet fabric for making the djellaba and kaftan, and we have also used old embroidery patterns to revive them, as well as randa embroidery. As for colours, we are aligned with the colours that are in fashion globally and choose them for the kaftan making."

"As our parents taught us, we buy traditional clothes every Eid. Our mothers buy, as do our fathers, brothers, children and grandchildren, this is our custom. This isn’t the occasion for buying regular clothes, as we do all year round. However, during Ramadan, Eid al-Fitr, and Eid al-Adha, we must wear traditional clothing."

Muslims are just days away from the end of Ramadan and the longed for Eid celebrations, and that calls for feasting in style with family and friends.
Traditional clothing styles are considered an essential part of the Eid celebrations in Morocco.
These are often tailor made and ornately embroidered sometimes with gold and silk.
STORYLINE:
The tailor would then prepare it for Eid.
