Six dead and 39 rescued after tourist submarine sinks in Red Sea, says Egyptian governor | BBC News

Six tourists have been killed and 39 rescued when a submarine sank in the Egyptian Red Sea, the local governor confirmed .

The accident happened around one kilometre off the coast of Hurghada.

The governor said the tourists were from Russia, Norway, Sweden, and India – all six who died were Russian.

In November, a tourist boat called the Sea Story sank in Hurghada, leaving 11 dead or missing – including a British couple – and 35 survivors.
