Although deep inside he might want to solve the problem, but it seems like there are people in his circle who tell him to slow down. But people here (in Ukraine) want this thing to be over fast.”

This is unacceptable in the modern world.”

STORYLINE:
Ukrainians in Kyiv expressed their opinions on the talks aiming to reach a ceasefire, which could be the first step to end Russia’s three-year war against their country.
Ukraine and Russia agreed in principle to a limited ceasefire after U.S. President Donald Trump spoke with the countries’ leaders this week, though it remains to be seen when it might take effect and what possible targets would be off limits to attack.
"I don’t know what to believe in anymore," said Natalia Volkotrub, who moved from Russia to Ukraine just before the break of the Soviet Union. "In 1991 we gave up our arms and were promised peace and protection, but as of today, all promises were broken."
The tentative deal to partially rein in the grinding war came after Russian President Vladimir Putin rebuffed Trump’s push for a full 30-day ceasefire.
The difficulty in getting the combatants to agree not to target one another’s energy infrastructure highlights the challenges Trump will face in trying to fulfil his campaign pledge to quickly end the war.
But Olena Morozova, who works as an accountant in Kyiv, was more positive.
