4. SOUNDBITE (English) Amy Grant, recording artist and Vince Gill, recording artist:
Gill: “I remember my earliest days. I’d look over, I’d see Minnie Pearl. I see little Jimmy Dickens in the wings cheering me on. You know, and there’s some great stories that I cannot tell in front of a camera that I wish I could get. But they’re hysterical. And it’s really great. There was – I’ll tell one this. I won’t tell who it was, but somebody was on the stage. It’s not a country artist, per se, but they are a complete lover of country music. And somebody who was an older artist was on the side of the stage. ‘Man, what’s he doing on our stage?’ And I leaned over and I said, ‘He knows more about our music than you do.’
Grant: “Yeah. I remember one time on a dressing room with a lot of women and Loretta Lynn and I were like, primping in the mirror. And I had a clip on earrings this night and she said, ‘Oh, Patsy and I used to take a pair of clip on earrings and put them on our pumps just to doll up our shoes.’ And she was just so casual talking about Patsy Cline. And I was just like, can I take notes? That’s just how the stories are passed down.”

5. SOUNDBITE (English) Chapel Heart (L to R: Trea Swindle, Danica Hart and Devynn Hart), recording artists:
Trea: “I feel like the Opry has been the best example of I feel like a genuine evolution of a genre. Because it’s not so trendy. It’s not so what’s in the now. But they have a way of finding what’s new and what’s current and what’s modern, but never compromising the integrity of what real good country music is. And every time we come here, it’s like, or see a new artist that has a debut who’s like, yeah, the Opry definitely knows what they’re doing.”

7. SOUNDBITE (English) Chapel Heart (L to R: Trea Swindle, Danica Hart and Devynn Hart), recording artists – on Chappel Roan’s new country song:
Devynn: “I have not gotten here…”
Danica: “We hadn’t gotten to hear. I said they work for so much, we don’t listen to the radio…”
Devynn: “I was telling them on our – we have a trip back home, we gotta perform in Louisiana this weekend. I told ‘em we have to listen to it and give it a full review.”
Danica: “Yeah, so then we can give it a full a full Chapel Hart rate and review.”
Devynn: “I’m looking forward to hearing it.”
(Reporter: “Yeah, we’ll have to have some Chapel collaboration.”)
Danica: “Yeah, Chapel by Chappell.”

10. SOUNDBITE (English) Carly Pearce, recording artist:
“I think the one that stands out in my mind the most. My second performance at the Opry. This is long before ‘Every Little Thing.’ I didn’t have a record deal. I was still an Airbnb cleaner. I was backstage rehearsing, and I got a knock on my door, and I heard somebody say, hey, can I come in? And it was Garth (Brooks). And he walked in and he said, I know you’re new here. I just wanted to say hi. Meet my wife, Miss Yearwood. And I literally was like, how is this happening to me right now? And they just came in, and that happens all the time. And I get to see it now for the next generation of artists who are still, like, walking and so starstruck and even me, I’m like, ‘How am I here, how is this happening?’ It’s just – it really is one big family.”
