"Yeah, listen, I think that Broadway should belong to everybody. You know, we should see the kinds of stories on Broadway that we see in the world. That’s always what I’ve wanted. That’s what every time I put pen to paper, that’s what I’m trying to do. I saw the show Off-Broadway. I couldn’t believe — I mean, I knew I was going to love it because I rocked this album in the late 90s like everybody else did. But to watch general audiences just really appreciate it and be captivated by its story. I think stories change hearts and minds. And so I’m really happy that this is landing on Broadway, particularly now."
