STORYLINE:
Against a backdrop of geopolitical tensions, one US fashion designer is pursuing her own brand of catwalk diplomacy.
U.S. designer Pia Lindsay showcased her creations at Moscow Fashion Week on Tuesday.
Since 2022, the main event of the Russian fashion industry has promoted mostly local brands but this year it starred the New-York based designer.
Lindsay said she came to Moscow to bring calmness and happiness amid troubled times with her pieces that focused on bold colors, shapes, and texture.
"The state of the world right now is a bit difficult but I hope that people that saw the show see like some sort of happiness, and some sort of calmness," she said.
Thrilled by the warm welcome of the audience in Moscow, Lindsay doesn’t rule out bringing her brand of luxury clothes to the Russian market.
Moscow Fashion Week runs until March 18 and features over 90 shows by some 200 fashion brands from Russia and abroad.
