6. SOUNDBITE (Arabic) Safiyeh Lubbad, displaced to al-Saftawi neighbourhood:
"We thought that we would remain in lasting peace or that the war is over, but we all woke up terrified. The children were screaming and we were horrified, (thinking) what on earth happened? We started to shiver in fear and the small children were screaming. We started to calm them down gradually but we the adults were also horrified, (thinking) what on earth happened? The war is over. We do not want to go back to the tragedy, fear and displacement that we’ve experienced, we do not want to go back to that again."

8. SOUNDBITE (Arabic) Mohammad Abu Hajjar, resident of Beit Lahiya:
"We were scared, we thought war had started all over again. We were really scared. The children were scared as the bombing was near us in Beit Lahiya. We do not know what this life is. Have mercy on us with everything that is going on, have mercy on us. We do not want food, drinks or anything else. All we want is one thing: Peace of mind. To sleep with your kids while you are relaxed, even if inside a tent."

And we are in Ramadan, we thought the holy month would go well. Praise be to God, we said God would facilitate matters and there would be a ceasefire, and the war would stop. But the war has resumed just like before and even dirtier than before."

STORYLINE:
Palestinians in the Gaza Strip expressed their fears over a full return to fighting in the enclave after Israel launched a wave of airstrikes across early Tuesday.
Israel said it was hitting Hamas targets in its heaviest assault in the territory since a ceasefire took effect in January.
The strikes have killed more than 400 people and wounded over 500, according to Gaza’s Health Ministry, which says more than half of the dead are women and children.
The strikes come after a ceasefire brought some relief to Gaza and allowed hundreds of thousands of displaced Palestinians to return to what remained of their homes.
"We thought that we would remain in lasting peace or that the war is over, but we all woke up terrified. The children were screaming and we were horrified," said Safiyeh Lubbad, a displaced woman.
"We do not want to go back to the tragedy, fear and displacement that we’ve experienced, we do not want to go back to that again," she added.
Displaced Palestinian, Fayez Najjar said he hoped for calm during Ramadan, describing the current situation as a nightmare.
"The war has resumed just like before and even dirtier than before," he said.
