STORYLINE:
Protesters marched in downtown Amman after Tuesday night prayers against the resumption of Israeli airstrikes on the Gaza Strip.

Protesters also denounced the U.S. administration’s support for the Israeli war.

“This is a war crime. Trump is a war criminal. He must be tried before all the world’s courts,” said Wael al-Saqqa, the Secretary-General of the Islamic Action Front.

Protesters called on Jordan’s government to support the Palestinian resistance and to annul a peace treaty with Israel.

Jordan’s government spokesman described the airstrikes as a “barbaric aggression."

Israel’s airstrikes early Tuesday killed at least 400 Palestinians, including women and children, according to Gaza’s Health Ministry.

The surprise bombardment shattered a ceasefire in place since January and threatened to fully reignite the 17-month-old war.
