"So last night we went to pick my grandpa’s woman up. She lives up top of Happy Holler on the way back down CC, our truck got hit, got covered in by a bunch of pine trees. After everything blew over, we come down here and this is my uncle Mike’s and my aunt Stacey’s house. My uncle Mike passed away a few while, a few years back. She was trapped in that bedroom, only room standing left of this house. She was trapped in it. We got her out the window, got her up to the earth home that’s up the road. And we, we were helping other people. We found a few bodies that was out in the field, a few deceased people and there’s a guy that was probably about a quarter mile back behind us through all these trees and debris. We ended up packing him out on a backboard. His name was Mike Genalds (spelling unclear). We packed him out because he had a broken leg and arm. But it was it was a rough night. It was a really rough night."

6. SOUNDBITE (English) Dakota Henderson, Wayne County resident:
"Yes, see, we was, we was in the 1 ton dodge just sitting right there. It, it got covered once everything got out. I had to get out, cut trees off off the truck to be able just to get out of the truck. Well I had a chainsaw through the through the driver side window cutting trees, but where there was some people that was trapped in this house that’s over here, they were trapped. We ended up getting his wife out that was trapped. We got her out like I said we got Mike out then after we got most people accounted for that was here and got them all up to the earth home that was up here that the guy was helping out. we ended up going through and cutting a bunch of trees out of the road to get EMS and fire department down here. It was just a rough, it was a very rough deal last night."

9. SOUNDBITE (English) Dakota Henderson, Wayne County resident:
"It was a rough ordeal like I said, there was, there was a deceased woman over here in the campground that’s right here, which it’s pretty mingled. If you go up that way, you’ll see camper frames and everything on the right hand side of the road just twisted up. But for the most part, like I said, you know, it’s really disturbing for what happened to the people, with the casualties last night, and I feel bad for their family and my dearest condolences to them, but It could have been a lot worse than what it was."
