Israel’s high court freezes Netanyahu’s dismissal of Shin Bet chief | DW News

Israel’s Supreme Court has put a temporary halt on the dismissal of Shin Bet chief Ronen Bar. Earlier, the Israeli government had approved Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s proposal to remove the domestic intelligence head from his post. The court’s recent temporary freeze enables petitions against Bar’s dismissal. Netanyahu said he had lost confidence in Bar long ago, while Bar himself had previously hinted he might resign after taking responsibility for intelligence failures over the October 7 Hamas terror attacks.
