A Peruvian fisherman spent 95 days in the Pacific Ocean before being rescued. Maximo Napa left the port of San Juan de Marcona on December 7, 2024 to do some fishing in a small boat. The engine of that boat failed and he was carried by ocean currents into Ecuadorian waters, where he was eventually rescued by a tuna fishing boat. He survived with very little for more than three months in the hopes of seeing his family again.
