2. SOUNDBITE (Ukrainian) Volodymyr, injured Ukrainian soldier:
"Obviously, the U.S. administration tried to manipulate things and they shouldn’t have done that. But, personally, this shows me how unreliable our partner (US) is. Since I saw the war from the inside, for me this was difficult to see. Now there will be changes again and after which our personal path may change also. It’s not the end of the world even if they didn’t resume all the military aid.”
3. SOUNDBITE (Ukrainian) Andriy, Kyiv resident who moved from Kramatorsk:
++PART OVERLAID BY SHOT 4, 5 & 6++
"Resuming the military help is very good, because without the intelligence that the U.S. has, it is very difficult for our guys and our defenders to work on the front lines. So, this is a big bonus, just like it was before. We were supported and would should be supported in the future. At some point, there was no intelligence, then there will be, then there was no support, then there will be again, then we have to apologize, then we are good. It’s very complicated and unpredictable. But I want to believe that the American people are with Ukraine, despite what politicians and leaders are doing now, and I believe that the American people support us.”

5. Various of people walking in the streets
6. Tilt up of church tower
STORYLINE:
Kyiv residents reacted on Wednesday to the U.S.-Ukraine negotiations on how to end the three-year war with Russia.
After talks in the Saudi city of Jeddah on Tuesday, President Donald Trump’s administration said it would immediately lift its suspension of military aid to Ukraine and its intelligence sharing with Kyiv.
That move came more than a week after imposing the measures to push Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to enter talks to end the war with invading Russian forces. The announcement came at talks between Ukraine and the United States in Saudi Arabia. Ukraine also said it was open to a 30-day ceasefire in the war with Russia, subject to Kremlin agreement.
Talking about Tuesday’s negotiations in Saudi Arabia, Ukrainian soldier, Volodymyr said in Kyiv that "the U.S. administration tried to manipulate things and they shouldn’t have done that."
Andriy who moved from Kramatorsk to Kyiv for safety said: "Resuming the military help is very good, because without the intelligence that the U.S. has, it is very difficult for our guys and our defenders to work on the front lines. So, this is a big bonus, just like it was before. I want to believe that the American people are with Ukraine, despite what politicians and leaders are doing now, and I believe that the American people support us.”
The outcome of Tuesday’s discussions, which lasted for nearly eight hours, between the Ukrainian and U.S. officials appeared to put to rest, for the moment at least, the animosity between Trump and Zelenskyy that erupted during the Oval Office meeting last month.
Secretary of State Marco Rubio, who led the U.S. delegation to the talks in Jeddah, said Washington would present the ceasefire offer to the Kremlin, which has thus far opposed anything short of a permanent end to the conflict without accepting any concessions.
