Unprecedented German public expenditure deal survives opposition’s court challenges | DW News

Germany’s Conservatives, Social Democrats, and Green Party have agreed to a historic debt deal which would loosen restrictions on its constitutional debt brake and allow for an increase in spending on public infrastructure, climate solutions, and – most controversially – defense. Germany’s parliament will vote on the deal on Tuesday.

DW Correspondent Matthew Moore explains what’s at stake in the historic deal agreed to by Germany’s CDU, SPD, and Greens.
