“The speech is really extremely confrontational. It can hardly be perceived as a speech by a head of state who thinks about peace. Rather, from what was said, one can conclude that France thinks more about war, about continuing the war.”

STORYLINE:
The Kremlin on Thursday dismissed a speech by French President Emmanuel Macron, in which he called Moscow a “threat” to Europe, as “extremely confrontational.”
In an address to the nation on Wednesday, Macron also said that he was ready to start discussions on nuclear deterrence with European allies.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov, during a regular call with journalists, said the speech was “extremely confrontational” and accused France of not thinking about "peace."
“One can conclude that France thinks more about war, about continuing the war," Peskov added.
