STORYLINE:
Hospital officials in Gaza said on Monday that two Palestinian men were killed in an Israeli strike.
The Israeli military said the men posed a threat to troops, who opened fire.
The bodies were brought to the Nasser Hospital in Khan Younis.
One grieving relative said one of those killed had gone to seek medial treatment at the Emirati Hospital.
"He fled to the school next to the Emirati (hospital), the drone chased him and killed him,” she said.
The deaths come as the fate of the ceasefire that paused the war in Gaza remains unclear.
A day after the first phase of the negotiated ceasefire ended, there is no clarity on what would come next since the agreement’s second phase has not yet been hammered out.
The Israeli military also said on Monday forces struck a "suspicious motorized boat" off the coast of Khan Younis which it said was violating security restrictions.
