"I’m just over the moon. I really am. It’s just everything that Lee would have wanted. Obviously, I’ve been looking after the Leigh Bowery estate for many, many years, so it’s great to see every single costume have a place and all the archival material being seen by everybody."

He threw his clothes off a balcony window, and they were photographed as they were landing on the floor, which is recreated in this exhibit with photographs of individual items and objects such as Bowery’s costumes and accessories scattered

6. SOUNDBITE (English) Nicola Rainbird, artist and widow to Leigh Bowery:
"Lee was a very mischievous person and he was always performing for me all the time. He would kind of come into the room and pose in front of me. And so, he was just it was just really, really funny. He was very outrageous. So, he came back with lots of naughty things all the time and tried to get people into trouble. He was a bit of a liar. He just like to cause mischief."

"Right now, we’re in the opening room of the exhibition, which is based around the home and specifically Leigh’s home and private house in East London. And that had this kind of crazy Star Trek wallpaper, paintings by his best friend Trojan, kind of lots of intentionally kind of kitsch and tacky furniture because he was really interested in forms of bad taste and clashing elements. And so, we wanted to open the exhibition by bringing people into the world of Leigh Bowery and friends."
