And, yeah, it’s very sad. I pray to God that he comes out of this, I really do. But I know, you know, he’s getting up there and age. But, you know, we just pray to God that everything works out. And, you know, I guess that’s all we can do is leave it in God’s hands."

"In a special way, I prayed for Pope Francis, who is critically ill. My impression of the prayer today is that there was really a community involvement in to praying for our Pope. We are aware of how terrible it is, but we are also trusting God’s care and mercy for him and for all the people who are caring for him at this moment in time. So, we are united in prayer with the universal church for our Pope Francis."

STORYLINE:
Roman Catholic parishioners and priests in Massachusetts offered fervent prayers Sunday for Pope Francis’s full recovery, reflecting growing concern among the faithful worldwide after his condition turned critical on Friday.
The 88-year-old pontiff is battling pneumonia, a complex lung infection and, the Vatican announced Sunday, early kidney failure.
Carol Bertolucci is a Massachusetts resident who has lived in the northwestern town of Billerica for 52 years and worshipped at a local church for decades.
“I got a little scared for him, you know, and for us because, yeah, it’s doesn’t look good, but we know God can do a lot of things,” she said. “So, I think, you know, if it’s meant to be, he’s going to pull out of this. You know, he’s done a wonderful job. Hopefully, he’s not done yet."
Bertolucci praised the pope’s leadership while voicing her worries over the pontiff who is known for his concern for the poor, his commitment to dialogue, and his views on climate change.
