“There has been a lot of changes in pet fashion. Ten years ago, clothes for dogs were very simple, only cotton T-shits. Now we have a wide variety, as you can see, we have “Ao dai” (Vietnam’s traditional dress), evening gowns, wedding gowns, suits. We have so many. The clothes have better quality, more stylish and also more expensive, but it’s worth it.”

“Young population are the main pet owners in Vietnam for now. And they like to spend money to take care of their pets. For them, the pet is the member of the family. And also for the reason that the young people, they don’t like to get married so they need a companion and the pet is the perfect choice.”

A lively pet expo in Vietnam has seen cats and dogs take centre-stage in frilly embroidered gowns and miniature suits.
The three-day event in Ho Chi Minh City showcased the country’s booming pet industry, where animal companions are become more pampered than ever.

Dogs and cats showed off the latest pet trends at a pet expo in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, delighting animal lovers with their creative and elaborate outfits.
The three-day event drew thousands of visitors, showcasing the country’s rapidly expanding pet industry.
Pet ownership has become increasingly popular in Vietnam, particularly among younger generations, many of whom consider their pets beloved family members.
Excitement and cheers filled the venue as dogs and cats paraded in a costume contest, dressed in a variety of outfits, from traditional Vietnamese ao dai (the country’s national dress) to kimono-inspired ensembles and even playful beachwear.
Dog owner Tuyet Anh says: “There has been a lot of change in pet fashion. Ten years ago, clothes for dogs were very simple, only cotton T-shirts.
