US President Donald Trump has held his first full cabinet meeting since retaking office last month.
Top officials from Trump’s government were in attendance – joined by Trump’s advisor, and the world’s richest man, Elon Musk. The president has tasked Musk with leading efforts to cut government spending. Musk said the US must move quickly to achieve a trillion dollar reduction from the country’s deficit. 100,000 people have already taken a buyout or been fired, and Musk warned federal agencies to prepare for more large-scale layoffs.
His slash-and-burn approach to reducing bureaucracy has already caused widespread panic and confusion in Washington.
